Gratitude has been found to increase positive emotions, reduce the risk of depression, heighten relationship satisfaction, and increase resilience in the face of stressful life events. And those are only some of the benefits.

Instead of a typical writing prompt, this time I am asking you to spend 5 to 10 minutes at the end of each day writing in detail about three things that went well that day, large or small, and also describe why you think they happened.

At the end of the week look back on all that you have written. Do you notice patterns? Did writing make you remember and appreciate the good things that happened over the week? Did you feel you became more present to the positive moments in your day?

Take some time to reflect and then write about the experience and anything that you found helpful or even surprised you.

Happy Writing,

Melanie
